Florida has Fall Colors TOO --- in January

This far south in Florida we occasionally have a few trees with fall colors. Only if we have any, it doesn't happen until winter. I guess the couple of cold snaps we've had spurred on the color changes in the maple trees.
I spotted this yellow-leaved tree among a cypress stand on my way north not far from my home. I've noticed a few of these around town.

This red one was a welcomed surprise I noticed as I was waiting in the drive-through line at Starbuck's just north of my home.
It's a little late but we don't mind. It's just nice to see some leaves changing colors.

  1. I've noticed a few fall leaves too! I was thinking it was my imagination so it's nice to know that I am not the only one. However, it didn't feel like January today. It was a beautiful day to go to the beach and a wonderful time. I'm hoping to post some of the 88 pics I took during the next couple of days. You are definitely a much better photographer on your little jaunt than I am. Mine don't even compare to yours!

  2. I just wish the cool fall weather accompanied the leaf change. Sure, it's winter and frigid in many places around the nation right now, but I'd be happy with FALL weather!

  3. Jane: it is odd how randomly the trees with color are plopped here and there this time of year ... seemingly oh so tardy.

Will be looking for your beach photos.

mlm: Now you know we can't ask for too much. We had some cold weather a couple of weeks ago and now we have to wait and see if we get some trickled down to us... we can only HOPE.:-)
