ReplyDeleteI hope you do well with peaches. There are a number of plants I miss growing in Florida, and a Peach tree is one of them.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I'm not very good at growing anything in Florida, but if this works, I will definitely try it. Let us know if you have to spray or anything.

ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful and delicate flowers...and hopefully, some yummy peaches this summer. My neighbor gave me a tree she raised from a seed from her own tree...which has delicious fruit. Don't know the name of it. It's still a baby, so I'll have to wait a few years for peaches. Enjoy yours!

ReplyDeleteLovely blossoms! In the hometown I grew up, there is a park full of peach trees grown majorly for the blossom. In spring, people all rush there to enjoy the beautiful sea of blossom. Very impressive... Wish you get the fruit as well. I love white flesh peach, hmm, juicy and sweet...
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Meems. Above all others the peach blossom is treasured in Asian culture and you'll find it in their art and poetry thousands of years ago. It is a treasured symbol of longevity.
ReplyDeleteHow old is your tree? Most dwarf peaches such as yours will bear fruit in their 2nd or 3rd year. It is important that you prune and train it for the first few years, trimming back 1/3 off of all the 2 year old wood to encourage fruit production.

The blooms are beautiful. I grew up in Seminole Heights and my neighbor had a pear tree that had fruit every year and I have never seen another one in Tampa, so maybe the peach tree will bare fruit.I know you will keep us posted.

ReplyDeleteAren't those PRETTY! We have a Dwarf Elberta Peach tree that just struggles along, but it lives. That's about it. We've had but one peach in three years. Maybe this year will be different, but I doubt it, since we moved it last year. LOL.
