The Possibility of Peaches
Even if by chance not a single peach is ever produced the thrill of these blossoms will be satisfaction enough.
A spindly, woody, fuzzy-budded and delicately pink flowering tree!
Tropic Snow Peach. An excellent moderate low chill (225 hours) white flesh, semi-freestone peach for central Florida and south Texas. Who knew!

Gorgeous Meems... Love the blossoms.. I hope you get peaches also---but if you don't, those blossoms are gorgeous all by themselves!!!!!! Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Beautiful peach blossoms! It seems so early, but I guess not in your zone!

Hi Meems~~ Oh my fingers are crossed. The blossoms are beautiful for sure. Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauitful blossom. They look good enough to eat.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do well with peaches. There are a number of plants I miss growing in Florida, and a Peach tree is one of them.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I'm not very good at growing anything in Florida, but if this works, I will definitely try it. Let us know if you have to spray or anything.
Beautiful blossoms! Peaches will be a bonus. I would like to try one of those here in North Florida.
ReplyDeleteThe blooms are lovely..we have had several peaches grow but not mature...maybe this year.
ReplyDeleteSo much promise in those beautiful flowers~~I do hope that the promise of peaches is realized. Have a sweet weekend, I hope you and Mr Meems have a trip planned to a wonderful getaway! gail
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful and delicate flowers...and hopefully, some yummy peaches this summer. My neighbor gave me a tree she raised from a seed from her own tree...which has delicious fruit. Don't know the name of it. It's still a baby, so I'll have to wait a few years for peaches. Enjoy yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Meems......who needs peaches....the blossom would be enough for me, so pretty......
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some peaches though, now that would be the icing on the cake, would it not??
Beautiful blossoms on that peach. It should be getting plenty of chill hours here this winter. Enjoyed meeting you and hope you got some plants you will enjoy. I can't wait to get into my backyard this weekend. Hoping for a pretty day tomorrow. Thanks for the info on your camera on your sidebar. It looks like a future Christmas present request.
ReplyDeleteLovely blossoms! In the hometown I grew up, there is a park full of peach trees grown majorly for the blossom. In spring, people all rush there to enjoy the beautiful sea of blossom. Very impressive... Wish you get the fruit as well. I love white flesh peach, hmm, juicy and sweet...
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Meems. Above all others the peach blossom is treasured in Asian culture and you'll find it in their art and poetry thousands of years ago. It is a treasured symbol of longevity.
ReplyDeleteHow old is your tree? Most dwarf peaches such as yours will bear fruit in their 2nd or 3rd year. It is important that you prune and train it for the first few years, trimming back 1/3 off of all the 2 year old wood to encourage fruit production.
Just visiting your Florida blog makes me feel like Spring is just around the corner :-)
I understand that the fruit is white-fleshed and delicious.
Hi Meems~
ReplyDeleteOh, I have never seen such a pretty fruit blossom! It looks so pretty that it took my breath away. I hope you get peaches this year. : )
so gorgeous...i want to eat that blossom. that is exciting that you could have peaches...yumo.
ReplyDeletelove the addition of this great specimen.
I agree, Meems--even if you don't get a single peach, these beautiful blossoms are enough reason to plant this tree!
ReplyDeleteI've been scrolling through your earlier posts--so good to see you working on your new garden area. I really like the circular design with the container in the middle. Having to tear up your garden for a new well may turn out to be a blessing in disguise!
Oh, love those peaches. Wish I had room to grow them here.
ReplyDeleteLove the color of the blooms.
The blooms are beautiful. I grew up in Seminole Heights and my neighbor had a pear tree that had fruit every year and I have never seen another one in Tampa, so maybe the peach tree will bare fruit.I know you will keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get peaches! At least you're able to enjoy the beautiful blooms! I'm not sure I knew what a peach blossom looked like. Thanks for sharing! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, blooms alone are gorgeous enough.
ReplyDeletegreat shot... love to se the pollen and pistols up close. those colors are darling.
ReplyDeleteWe love edible landscaping and the joys that bring. But yours really have gorgeous flowers! What a beautiful addition to your garden.
ReplyDeleteAren't those PRETTY! We have a Dwarf Elberta Peach tree that just struggles along, but it lives. That's about it. We've had but one peach in three years. Maybe this year will be different, but I doubt it, since we moved it last year. LOL.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Apparently, there is a cultivar that will even grow in Miami!
