Take a seat on the edge of my Circle Garden and sip a slow cup of coffee or your drink of preference. It's the perfect spot to pause and take in a peaceful cool morning or find shade-relief from a sunny afternoon or rest in the evening from the toils of the day.
This time of year Gardenias are blooming on the 'Miami Supreme' standard shrub nearby. A few more feet away Confederate jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides) clambers up and over the arbor that leads to the butterfly garden. Providing shade all year long is the sweet almond bush (Aloysia virgata) trained to a multi-trunked tree that now towers 15 feet above.
Across the way the mature Southern Magnolia Grandiflora is refreshing the air with its giant lemony scented luscious flowers.
Spring is here and with it comes abundant white blooms and fragrance. Drink it in and don't miss a minute!

I have a gardenia and confederate jasmine and I am enjoying them both. I've read about the Aloysia virgata and wouldn't mind having one of those or the Southern Magnolia Grandiflora too. Any magnolias that I've seen though are pretty pricy.
ReplyDeleteI look forward every spring to the blooms and scent of the confederate jasmine. Now that I have a gardenia, a favorite scent since I was a little girl, I feel blessed.

I love Confederate Jasmine, and have some planted under our bedroom window--love to breathe in the smell at night or in the morning from my bed. Too bad the flowers don't last longer... :(
ReplyDeleteI love your chairs. What a perfect spot to sit!
ReplyDeleteI've just been to your neck of the woods, and don't think I smelled any jasmine. But I do get a whiff of orange blossoms. Hey, I didn't see any orange blossoms, maybe it WAS jasmine! We visited Bok Towers, what a lovely garden. I'm sure you've been there.
ReplyDeleteSeems so many fragrant blooms are white. Here, I have gardenia, magnolia, confederate jasmine, white ginger.
ReplyDeleteYour circle garden has really come along so beautifully.
I always love to see your circle garden, it's so lovely and peaceful!
