Over the years I've concentrated on
removing more and more lawn in my yard. The idea has been to create a more garden-like atmosphere as compared to a typical suburban yard. Pathways and plants have taken the place of most of the turf grass during the last 5 years. There is still a peaceful green carpet of grass in the back yard where the grandkiddos play ~~ although many stray balls land in the plants these days since the size of the play area keeps shrinking.

Great article and I enjoyed hearing your sweet voice in your video. Your gardens are wonderful!! Peaceful, colorful, so many textures and so much to see. I also enjoyed the squirrel.

And your turf area looks great, especially for the end of summer. You need to come help my poor neighbor who has just replaced his turfgrass completely for the sixth time in two years. I have tried to politely suggest that perhaps he should consider a grass-free landscape like mine, but he is determined to have his lush green carpet and he clearly needs help!

We have so many squirrels and they are always chattering about something.
My lawn has done better for me since I haven't used chemicals or synthetic fertilizers on it for the past two years. I'm also not as freaked out (like I used to be)about the issues FL lawns are plagued with... this year I let the wasps take care of the sod web worms. Boy, that was a test of patience. But it worked out.
Such a nice video of your gardens. I am inspired anew to get on my own asiatic jasmine and pinestraw paths project.
