"Possibility and promise greet me each day as I walk out into my garden. My vigor is renewed when I breathe in the earthiness and feel the dirt between my fingers. My garden is a peaceful spot to refresh my soul." Meems

God Bless America

Happy 4th of July from Hoe and Shovel. America's 233rd birthday! We proudly fly our flag.
Today I'm thanking God for all our troops and their families serving on the front lines. And for all the veterans who have served and sacrificed for my freedom. I'm counting my blessings to live in such a wonderful country.
I'm out digging up more of the lawn to celebrate my independence. *grin*

  5. happy July 4th to you too! it seems more important than ever to reflect on why we celebrate this day in the United States, and to continue to pass on our history to our families. many of the younger ones are not getting the total picture in their education. as citizens under a unique national constitution, with a God inspired Declaration of Independence under-girding our individual liberty and pursuit of happiness, we must more than ever treasure, and remain vigilant to safeguard, our blood bought rights. it has maintained our freedom for 233 years, and can only do so in the future as we adhere to our inherent singular and corporate privileges. we are a nation of freedom fighters, not only for ourselves primarily, but for others around the world which we have rescued and salvaged in the past. i believe the U.S. is a country which is a beacon of hope still to those who can only long for such independence.

so have fun celebrating today, even being able to work in your garden. let's pray and give thanks for our wonderful nation. and may God continue to bless America's future!

  6. Isn't it nice to say, Meems, that we have the freedom to do what we want--such as digging up the yard?????

We really do take this freedom for granted sometimes don't we????

Hope you and yours have a fabulous 4th--but don't work too hard today.
    Hugs,
    Betsy
