Thanksgiving Week in St. Simon's Island

Our family has congregated to St. Simon's Island, Ga for Thanksgiving week.

Our three grown children with their spouses and their children are all staying in the same house at the beach.

No time for writing much. We've been very busy having great family time.

It's going to be really strange to cook in a partially equipped kitchen but we'll manage.

Yesterday a photographer met us at this 1700's church to take family photos.
Here's to wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving Day and week.

  8. It sounds like you are having a great time. Thanks for the lovely photos. I especially like the ones of the beach, as they bring back the good memories I have of our visit to the Outer Banks area June of '07.

I just got caught up on your other posts, too. I always enjoy your photographs. It's cool you are still eating out of your garden.

  19. Thanks everyone for you thoughtful comments. It has been a marvelous experience having everyone in the same house for the holiday week. We have eaten together, played on the beach, colored, played oodles of board games, played golf (all the guys anyway), shopped, visited the sites... and we are very thankful for each other. In these days when so much uncertainty is close at hand family seems all the more treasured. It is important to cherish our times together.

  25. Wonderful memories, Meems, are what a family builds upon. On this your special birthday, please know how happy I am for you. Our family all met one Thanksgiving on Amelia Island, and it haunts all of us today. It was the first Thanksgiving that I spent with my siblings since I was a child (and all of our children were there). Enjoy the moment!

From the previous post, your bird visitors and flowers are so cheering up here where it looks like winter. And yes, where has the year gone? Here's looking forward to 2009!
