"Possibility and promise greet me each day as I walk out into my garden. My vigor is renewed when I breathe in the earthiness and feel the dirt between my fingers. My garden is a peaceful spot to refresh my soul." Meems

let the mountains sing together for joy...

“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in where nature may heal and cheer and give strength to the body and soul.” John Muir

curving, winding, sometimes steep roads, cool breezes, fresh clean dry air, rocking chairs, outdoor decks overlooking lush green mountains, clearings among the dense trees, flowers, butterflies, hikes, waterfalls, cliffs and rocks, breathtaking mountain vistas with brilliant sunrises and sunsets and way too much food.

what is there not to love?
thank you, each one, for your well wishes as we departed. my next few posts will give you a closer look at our adventures.

He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains... Ps 95:4

We have amply relaxed, rested, shopped, hiked, and driven for miles because we wanted to; spent precious time with family, celebrated, lounged, laughed and bundled up on the porches in the cool mountain temperatures. And… we are home sweet home again.

  1. YAY! Welcome back! Glad you're home safely. Also, thanks for what promises to be some exciting posts to come...all about one of my favorite places on earth---the mountains! Loved the bee pic by the way. Don't love bees, but that photo was great!

How did you like Apalachicola? It's one of my favourite places, but I don't get down that way very often anymore.

  4. mlm: thanks.bees were abundant on many flowers on our mountain road. i have lots of bee photos.
:-) it was great practice with my camera.

sophie: it's always good to be home. we ended up canceling the apalachicola days... once we were in the mountains we didn't want to leave. we have spent many an anniversary at the gibson inn and st. george island. we determined to do another long weekend there soon.

however, we did swing through tally for the weekend to catch the fsu game and some family time.

jane: thanks... still not certain about the camera- it's a count down until friday when i have to decide.
